(OCR New CLAIT)
The OCR
Level 1 Certificate for IT Users (New CLAIT)
is designed to boost candidates' IT confidence. Suitable
for IT beginners, it allows candidates to tailor the
qualification to suit their own needs.
Course Objectives:
To accredit a candidate’s first steps in IT

software, Microsoft

packages
in
Partnership with Microsoft.

Presentation Graphics (PPT).
To teach students Electronic Communication and Web
Pages creation skills for better use of the world wide
web (WWW).
Developed in consultation
with industry, New CLAIT reflects
and builds upon the strengths of ROYAL
SOCIETY OF ARTS (RSA CLAIT)
Stage I, which became the UK's most popular IT qualification.
New CLAIT consists of units, which
can be entered individually, as part of a nationally
recognised IT user award, or in any combination according
to the needs of the learner. It consists of the following

16 weeks or more depending on number of units opted
for and based on individual‘s computing knowledge.
Qualification
gain:
Certificate
in IT users
New ClAIT
equivalent of NVQ1.
Each unit is certificated separately,
but
for the candidate to achieve the overall Level 1
Certificate, they
must complete five units ,including the mandatory
Unit 1:Using Computer.
Candidates who successfully
complete New CLAIT will be able to progress to Level
2 or IT users CLAIT Plus.
