OCR Level 1 Certificate/Diploma for IT users (New CLAiT)

The OCR Level 1 Certificate/Diploma for IT Users (New CLAiT) is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, whether in employment, education or training.  Courses leading to a New CLAiT qualification will equip learners with the basic range of transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace, and will prepare learners for progression to further training and accreditation in IT User skills at Level 2 and Level 3. 

Pre-requisites:

No prior computing knowledge is required to join this course.

Duration: 14 weeks

Mandatory unit
Module 1: File Management and Document Production 

Select any four of the optional units
Module 2: Creating Spreadsheets and Graphs
Module 3: Databases Manipulation
Module 4: Publication Creation
Module 5: Creating a Presentation
Module 6: Image Creation
Module 7: Web Page Creation
Module 8: Online Communication 

Qualification gain:  

In order to achieve a certificate qualification, candidates are required to achieve three units, the core unit plus two additional optional units.  Candidates can also achieve a diploma qualification; they are required to achieve five units, the core unit plus four additional optional units.  Certification is also available for single units.

Candidates who successfully complete New CLAIT will be able to progress to Level 2 with CLAIT Plus, and level 3 with CLAIT Advanced.

The OCR Level 2 Certificate/Diploma for IT Users (CLAiT Plus) is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users in employment, education or training.  Courses leading to the CLAiT Plus qualification will equip learners with the broad range of transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace, and will prepare learners for progression to training in IT User skills at Level 3.

Pre-requisites: New CLAiT or equivalent qualification

Duration: 14 weeks

Module 2: Manipulating Spreadsheets and Graphs
Module 3: Creating and Using Database
Module 4: Publication Design
Module 5: Designing a Presentation
Module 6: Image Manipulation
Module 7: Web Site Creation
Module 8: Electronic Communication

The OCR Level 3 Certificate/Diploma for IT Users (CLAiT Advanced) is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of those who use advanced IT skills.  The qualification recognises complex and specialist skills in the use of IT in vocational contexts.

Pre-requisites: CLAiT Plus or equivalent qualification.

Duration: 24 weeks

Module 1: Creating an IT Solution

Select any four of the optional units
Module 2: Analysing Spreadsheets and Graphs
Module 3: Relational Databases
Module 4: Publication Production
Module 5: Professional Presentation
Module 6: Image Creation
Module 7: Image Production
Module 8: Website Authoring
