Overview:

Our Business English course aims to give students an understanding of the fundamental areas of contemporary business and is designed for upper-intermediate and advanced level students of English. No prior knowledge of business studies is required. Key concepts in business and economics are covered using a variety of reading, speaking, listening and writing activities based on a wide range of materials including current financial newspapers, magazines, radio and television programmes and the Internet. Management, production, marketing, finance and macroeconomics are just a few of the topics dealt with in class. Classroom discussions and selected reading and writing assignments as well as grammar and vocabulary practice form the basis of our method, helping students to communicate confidently in an English speaking business environment.

  • Grammar – revision of basic structures and introduction to new structures
  • Business Language – helping students to use their English in a business environment according to their particular needs
  • Social Language – the development of social skills in English (introductions, eating out, polite phrases, idiomatic English)
  • Meeting and Negotiations – simulated business meetings and debates
  • Discussions and Presentations – work-related presentations and topic discussions with question-and-answer sessions to help students expand their vocabulary and put their acquired skills into practice
  • Telephoning – listening, speaking and role-play activities
  • News Conference – keeping up to date with and discussing the latest events covered by the media
  • Feedback – identifying strengths and weaknesses and helping individual students make the best of their course

Upper-Intermediate level of English or IELTS or FCE certification
